Revolutionary Gaming Blog

The Internet has really changed the way the gaming industry works. Gamers can now communicate across the world in an instant and that means that there are no secrets left in gaming. For example, a game is released in Japan and by the end of the day the entire world will know all of the game's secrets.

I find that the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Dojo blog is quite a revolutionary way to build up buzz for a game and at the same time keep all of the secrets until release day. Each weekday, the Dojo is updated with a new fact about the game along with some words from the game's creator. The updates are always the same for all nations that view the site. So, for the first time gamers all over the world know exactly the same amount of information about the game right up until the Japanese release date. Not only that, but since the blog is run by the game's top creator, we can get some insight into his thoughts and feelings during production a feat that has only been enjoyed by gaming journalists.

Another interesting thing of note is that while the Dojo is a blog it is also the official website for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. While the blogged updates will eventually stop, the website will stay as a reference after the game's release. So because we had continual updates from the creator, those gamers who have watched the site since it's first post in the early parts of 2007 have watched the games official website evolve and change as more information is continuous added over time.

While I know that a number of people might not agree with me, but I think that this blog is quite revolutionary if only because it is the only source of advertising that this game has recieved since it's announcement.
